Many of us have been following nostalgic comic strip on Facebook and Instagram by Faisal Ahmed titled as Garbage Bin. For sometime GBC (Garbage Bin Comics) has started to bring out print version of strip in Comics format. Till now 5 issues are published. Just before this new year GBC has come out with comics box set. you can see full details on this Instagram post from Garbage Bin I ordered a box set priced at 750/-  and this is worth every paisa. 5 comics, 1 calendar, 5 stickers and very sturdy comics box. On top of it all free delivery.  This the best deal one can get. If convert 750/- to dollars it amounts to $10.2  I wonder, if he is able to get any profit from this venture? Or its pure passion and love of comics?? Nonetheless, readers are not complaining. It has been some time I have been seeing a lot of people in my facebook friend list are sharing pics of plastic bottles recycling. These clever solutions invariably get attention.  Over a period, I collected a good number of these images (got a bad habit of collecting images). I tried a few of them at home; my skill with cutting plastic failed me. The end result was a crude product. I still feel this is a good way to start and make people at least think about recycling. facebook wall postings are always full of surprises. apart from daily updates of pets, birthdays and show off pics you get see to some anonymous postings which somebody liked from your friends list. topics of these posts can be very different. here, I am just going to talk about the post which are related to spirituality and have very intriguing visual to support it. this one talks about how your palm has point (buttons) to different body parts. if you press these points (acupuncture) 3-5 seconds it helps or soothes the situation.  this illustration is about 7 centres of energy within the human body termed as kundalini. I usually don't write blog posts on food. I see some of my facebook friends sharing pictures of the food they are cooking or discovering. in that way, I got to know about a few dishes which otherwise I will not try. Once, some one shared pics of Maithi Chicken . It sounded really interesting combination to me. then, I looked up for it's recipe. I found a youtube video on it's cooking. By the way, youtube is good source for video recipes. I prefer video recipes than the written ones. its simple and less time taking to follow a video recipe.   I love to eat tasty and healthy food. I was supposed to write this post almost a month back, that's when I came to know about Mukesh Singh's superb art for comics. I happened  to see some images by him on Facebook. I was impressed by those visuals. then, I wanted know more about who is this guy Mukesh? churning out world class stuff. He is a graduate from Sir J.J. School of Fine Arts  and currently working with Liquid Comics as Senior Illustrator and concept artist. I just wanted to  share a video. It's about Greenpeace campaign aimed at stopping Facebook from using coal power in its data center in Oregon. It is amazing how facebook has become a forum for almost every thing surpassing beyond it's initial usage as a social networking website. people showcase their professional work here. write reviews of books and films. discuss social cause and play cool games here apart from checking out pretty faces. recently, "Airtel" a mobile phone service provider got a new corporate identity designed and apparently spent 300 crore rupees. somebody (actually, I just got his name after going back to Facebook and finding the name he is mr. Farm ville is an online strategy game on facebook social networking website. Farmville has become an addiction for many facebook users. there are many who are actually spending hard cash to buy experience points and accessories. I tried to ignore this game for long but all my friends on facebook kept sending me requests so I had to give it a try. the game graphics are done in isometric view and uses flash vectors. the colour scheme is cheerful and characters/accessories are adorable. may be that's the reason people get hooked to it. one day, I was talking to my room mate about this game. He said he used to play it when he was in his college and now out of this genre. may be many more feel the same way but I have seen people who are 40+ and are taking keen interest in this game called farmville. what is that which attract people to check farmville as well when they check their mails and updates on Facebook? may be it is the hidden urge to be a farmer? or just a game where they want...
