animation short films looking for oscar 2009

Image
about a month back animationxpress.com's newsletter published an article about 10 short animated films which were shortlisted by Reviewing Committee in the preliminary round of voting in screenings held in New York and Los Angeles. I found this list interesting because they provided preview URL in the listing. though most of them I had previewed during my year long internet viewing/ surfing through different forums. But seeing the whole list and comparing hand to hand was something empowering for personal analysis. I liked the illustrative etching texture of 'the Kinematograph' and intense blue colour scheme and mood of 'the cat piano'. here is the link to the full list of Animationxpress.com: http://www.animationxpress.com/anex/y2k9/headlines/anex5292.htm# enjoy :-D ....................................................

palmistry: line of your hand are like google map of your life

Image
The other day, I was talking to my room mate. we were having casual discussion about hard work and fate. each one had things to share. final opinion was that apart from your knowledge(professional education) and handwork. luck is essential to succeed. only with your luck you can be the right person on right time on right place for right opportunity. we were talking about palmistry. I don't know much about it, nor I have come across a great palm reader but there are people who say so. then we were comparing palm lines as a map of life. since we all relate to computer visual language so we exclaimed that GOD has give a google map in our hands only if we could read it or zoom it to a comprehending level . so that thought of hand being a google map kept coming in my head many times. thus I had to try visualizing the idea in photoshop not satisfied with it but anyway, I am done with this urge after writing this post.

Animation and Design talent pool and jobs

Image
It is a tough life for a just graduated commercial artist or designer. there are many things(tips and tricks) teachers and seniors told don't seem to work while looking for a break(job). where to host your online portfolio and where to put your resume/CV. ????? it is sure a genuine question, specially for aspirant of creative field. Most of the job sites are generic and cater to H R, marketing and other well established disciplines and try to fit your CV there is frustrating. even if put your resume on regular job site then you are bombard with irrelevant job list in your inbox. This is a fact that there are very few good sites in this domain. there many which started with good intentions but could not maintained their standard. apart from http://www.coroflot.com I think behance network is a standard site where you can host your work. http://www.behance.net/ coroflot.com is also good for job list. there are 2 more which I will maintain here greenlightjobs and creativeheads. http:/
