we have been working on some interesting projects at our office Emantras media lab, Gurgaon.
this one is now due on this February.
Rangmahal is an attempt on part of mlab emantras to revive the ancient art of shadow puppetry and bring it to mainstream by using the artifacts and combining it with Digital media.
Rang Mahal meaning the ‘Palace of Colors’ was usually an apartment for the royals in the northern region of India during the aristocratic times. Here they met royal ladies, listened to music by classical artists, enjoyed classical dance, ate and relaxed. It also served as patronizing place of different kinds of arts and artisans.
