experiencing kol-katha09 Animation film festival

Image
It was a great selection of animated short films for our viewing which shows that young animation filmmaker n student are throbbing with energy. I could see a lot of good work apart from the mold of NID, IDC and FTII giants. Works from some private animation academies was eye grabbing though they still stick to very commercial clear cut 2D and 3D style. I wished that the festival had some more relaxed scheduling so that young and experienced one could interact and talk. There was such a rush to screen 40-50 films in a stretch that I felt breathless. Anyway, since it was their 1st edition I hope in future it will get better. http://www.animationxpress.com/index.php?file=story&id=17761

Anurag Kashyap (director)

Image
I knew about Anurag as much as a common viewer knows. Means yeah, a bollywood director! but after watching Dev D I had to read about him. I wanted to know what goes on a director's mind who can make a film like Dev D. superb! his life has been as interesting and struggleful as his films are. may be , I am getting inspired. it's always good to feel that way. I felt the same inspiration after reading Irving Stone's " Lust for life"

Amar Chitra Katha online

Image
I think most of kids of my generation grew up reading comics and Amar Chitra Katha was the one which all parents used to buy and give to kids with pleasure. Other comics like Indrajaal, Manoj and Raj were rented out and read happily. Amar Chitra Katha has such an impact on my mind that whenever we used to hear mythological stories visuals from Amar Chitra Katha used to come. So it is true that Amar Chitra Katha has shaped the visual language for our generation. Earlier it did not have online presence, now it’s keeping it with time so check out this link: http://www.ack-media.com/india/index.php
